A fallen bridge

The bridge I was planning to cross on my way to getting my Masters and teaching license has fallen in the water.

The storm of financial shortfall in the public schools caused the bridge that students have been crossing for over 20 years to plunge into the raging river.

The 16 other participants and I have to navigate a new way to cross the water, a way that has never been done before.

I will not have my own class for the fall.
I will not continue to receive a stipend.
The university will not pay for tuition as it promised.
I will have to take additional student teaching experience to the 4 months I just completed.

Our program director is being supportive and creative as to how we can receive our license, and remain together as a cohort. It looks like we will take classes at night in the fall and spring, receive our licenses in December, and our Masters in the Spring.
They have also pooled together the remaining money that they had for the program to pay our summer tuition and pay us a stipend of $1,100 in July. yeah! a nice little surprise.

So here's to trailblazing a new way across the river, together... a new adventure.
