Last Thursday I did a Social Justice lesson on Children's Rights. I was formally observed, and it took me about 10 hours to think up, plan, create, and mentally translate all my thoughts about this lesson into Spanish.
Result: It went marvellously!
My students did a demonstration for Children's Rights. We walked around campus with signs that called attention to the needs of children: food/water, love, education, medical attention, protection, name and nationality, family.
My kindergartners felt very important when the 1st grade class came to join in our demonstration. They had a good time chanting "Los Niños Necesitan... amor! familia! comida y aqua!"
I think it was my best lesson yet.
