El Modelo is a small, take out Mexican restaurant on 3rd and César Chavez. Above is a picture of a bowl of posole from there. It was absolutely delicious, and it came with a side of oregano, chopped onion and lime to add to the soup of hominy, red chile and pork. I bought the posole to go, and ate it the next morning for breakfast. yum yum.
I'm also a big fan of their carne desembrada (beef brisket with green chile) burrito. Writing about this makes me really hungry!
I'm been exhausted lately with summer school and the heat. I can't seem to get anything done unless it's required of me. I just finished a research paper yesterday on the Geography of Food in New Mexico. It's really quite interesting, but it felt torturous while sitting at my desk all day yesterday.
I highly recommend El Modelo for a delicious meal for just a few bucks. Just one of the cool places in my neighborhood.
