i bought it

Vintage style, schoolboy, leather laptop/messenger bag

for myself, for my birthday.

It's the perfect, vintage leather, school girl satchel to tote all my teacherly things to class.

A few of the kindergartners have asked me, "Teacher, why do you have a backpack like us?"

"I have a backpack because I need a backpack, like you!"

It's strange for them to see a teacher wear a red backpack like theirs, when all the other teachers have rollie backpacks, or leather side backs, or purses.

I then remembered two of my English professors from my undergrad, and their old, trusty leather satchels. These bags contained their books, graded papers, real-ink pens, and they always seemed like the perfect companion for my forgetful, lost-in-literature, spectacle wearing professors. I thought then, if I ever become a professor, I'm gonna get one of those bags.

Well, I'm not a professor, but I'm a MA student, and I believe teaching Kindergarten is just as, if not important then teacher college. I think it will make a perfect companion for me, the quirky, lost-in-lesson-plans, curly haired teacher.
