Here they are enjoying green eggs and ham on Dr. Seuss day, which also happens to be my birthday!
Wednesday was my last day student teaching my dual language Kinder class. Next week we have Spring break, and then 3 weeks of UNM classes. It's time to switch gears from classroom teacher, to graduate student.
Tuesday was my solo day, and afterwards I was so exhausted I showered and was in my Pjs before 8pm. They certainly are a lively bunch. I really enjoy learning how to teach them. It is challenging in many ways...how to be a leader, how to be assertive, how to tweak a lesson when they're not getting it, how to be creative, when to be fun and silly, when to be strict and serious, and then speaking Spanish on top of it all, it's so exhausting!
I really like Bilingual education, and I'm thinking about pursuing an endorsement after I finish CDP. Learning how to speak Spanish with kindergartners has been a blessing for me. I'm not nervous about making mistakes, and I say the same thing over and over, so that's good practice. CDP has been a great experience so far, but I'm looking forward to the much needed Spring Break for some R & R.
